Ingredients

Scale
  • Standard square wonton wrappers
  • Low-moisture shredded mozzarella
  • Pizza sauce
  • Pepperoni
  • Finely diced bell peppers
  • Dried oregano
  • Garlic powder
  • Cooked and crumbled lean ground beef
  • Finely diced cooked Italian beef sausage
  • Thinly sliced cooked roast beef
  • Finely chopped mushrooms
  • Black olives
  • Diced onions
  • Spinach (squeezed dry)
  • Cooked bacon bits
  • Red pepper flakes
  • One egg
  • One tablespoon of water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare all fillings by finely dicing vegetables, shredding mozzarella cheese, and ensuring meat fillings are ready.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk one egg with a tablespoon of water for the egg wash.
  4. Get the pizza sauce ready in a small bowl and keep the wonton wrappers covered with a damp paper towel.
  5. Lay a single wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface in the shape of a diamond.
  6. Place about ½ teaspoon of pizza sauce just below the center of the wrapper.
  7. Add about 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, followed by 3-4 pieces of pepperoni or about 1 teaspoon of other chosen beef filling.
  8. Moisten all four edges of the wonton wrapper with the egg wash.
  9. Fold the bottom point of the diamond up and over the filling, tucking it in snugly.
  10. Fold the left and right corners towards the center, overlapping them slightly.
  11. Roll the wrapper upwards towards the top point, creating a tight cylinder, and press to seal.
  12. Repeat the process for remaining wrappers and filling, placing assembled rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet or air fryer basket.
  13. Lightly brush the tops of each roll with the remaining egg wash.
  14. For Baking: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  15. For Air Frying: Cook in batches in the preheated air fryer for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  16. Let the rolls cool on the baking sheet or a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
  17. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce, ranch dressing, or a garlic parmesan dip.
