Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, light
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Optional Almond Extract
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Optional Peppermint Extract
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup Festive Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this bowl aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the pure vanilla extract and optional extracts if using.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and festive sprinkles with a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Keywords: Chilling the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes can improve flavor and texture. Measure flour correctly by spooning it into the measuring cup and leveling it off. For a festive touch, consider dusting with powdered sugar or drizzling melted white chocolate after cooling.
