Ingredients

  • Brownie Mix (or Homemade Batter)
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Graham Crackers
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Heavy-Duty Aluminum Foil
  • Butter or Non-Stick Spray
  • Optional Add-ins: Chopped pecans or walnuts, Caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Campfire (or Oven/Grill): If you're using a campfire, get a good bed of hot, glowing coals. For an oven, preheat to 375°F (190°C). If using a grill, preheat to medium heat.
  2. Gather Your Materials: Tear off sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil, approximately 12×18 inches each. Use two layers of foil for extra durability. Lightly grease the inside of each foil sheet with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Prepare the Brownie Batter: In a mixing bowl, prepare your brownie mix according to package directions, or use your homemade batter.
  4. Assemble the Packs: Place one prepared double-layer foil sheet on a flat surface. Spoon about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of brownie batter into the center of the foil. Sprinkle a generous amount of chocolate chips over the brownie batter. Scatter some broken graham cracker pieces over the chocolate chips. Top it all off with a handful of mini marshmallows.
  5. Seal the Foil Packs: Bring the long sides of the foil together over the brownie mixture and fold them down tightly. Fold and crimp the short ends upwards to completely seal the pack.
  6. Cook Your Brownie Packs: For Campfire Coals, place the sealed foil packs directly onto a bed of hot coals, turning occasionally for even cooking (15-25 minutes). For Grill, place on grill grates over medium heat, cooking for about 15-20 minutes, flipping once. For Oven, place on a baking sheet and bake for 18-25 minutes.
  7. Check for Doneness: Carefully remove one pack from the heat source and open it cautiously. The brownie should be set around the edges but fudgy in the center, and the marshmallows should be toasted.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, carefully open the packs and let them cool for a minute. Grab a spoon and dig into your warm, gooey S’mores Campfire Brownie.
